The N12910SAS N16910SAS W12910SAS W16910SAS have following physical slot:

Physical slot:
PCIe 3.0 x 16 1slot (PCIE6/4: single at x16 (PCIE6); dual at x8 (PCIE6) / x8(PCIE4)
PCIe 3.0 x 8 1slot (PCIE4)
PCIe 3.0 x 4 1slot (PCIE7: shared with M.2)
3.0 x 1 1slot (PCIE5)

Due the PCIe 3.0 x 8 slot share from x 16, thus for best expandability the PCIe x 8 slot for HBA card (link HDDs) used, and able to support an additional PCIe x 8 card only.

How to upgrade OS5 X32 FW via USB upgrade tool

0. Please download USB Tool as below or https://www.dropbox.com/s/8lz7y6tjgj2phoc/X32_usb_upgrade_1.0.9.1.zip
1. Arrange an empty USB driver(fat/fat32 format).
2. Download the firmware to the USB root folder:
    http://www.thecus.com/Downloads/FW/N5500_N7700_N8800/XXXseries_1U4600_N0503_N4200series_N5500_N7700series_N8800series_FW_5.03.02.rom
3. Unzip USB Tool file to USB root folder.
4. Power off NAS(remove all HDD).
5. Plug USB into NAS and power up.
6. Since process completed and NAS going to power off automatically.
7. Insert HDD and boot NAS

The NAS will load factory default settings
WAN IP: 192.168.1.100
LAN IP: 192.168.2.254
admin's password: admin
HTTP port: 80
HTTPS port: 443

All the users and groups settings will be cleared after load factory default settings.

If join LDAP and the FTP working but SAMBA doesn't, it is cause from LDAP server without related SAMBA password configure for user, thus need add following password configure for each user from LDAP:

                         How to upgrade or flash OS5 X64 FW via USB upgrade tool


Please try following steps to re-flash the OS5 X64 FW:

1. Please download the attached USB tool " X64_USB_UPGRADE.zip"

2. Please unzip the downloaded file. There should be a folder called " X64_USB_UPGRADE.zip".

There would be sub-folder "gofactory".

3. Please download firmware and MD5 file for firmware from the links below:

4. Please prepare an empty USB drive and format the USB drive as FAT32.

5. Please copy all the content under folder " X64_USB_UPGRADE.zip", the firmware file and the MD5 file to the USB drive.

The content of USB drive should be like the attached screenshot.

6. Power off NAS

7. Plug USB drive into NAS black USB2.0 port as possible.

8. Power on NAS

9. It will start re-flashing DOM process automatically.

10. Once the process is done, NAS will be powered off automatically.

A. SYSLOG MANAGEMENT
A-1. Enable the from ADMIN WEB UI-> SYSTEM INFORMATION-> SYSLOG MANAGEMENT->ENABLED->LOCAL->ALL.
A-2. We could get the message from SAMBA \\NASIP\nsync\logs have a file named messages.

B. FAEDEBUG
B-1. Please upload this patch via firmware upgrade interface, but don't reboot, after reboot and this patch would invalid and need install again.
B-2. We could get the message from SAMBA \\NASIP\nsync\ have a file named messages.
B-3. If can't get file from SAMBA, please reconfigure the "nsync" folder ALC from public->no public->public.

--OS5 X64

  1. Download CONF.BIN as a backup, from [System Management/ Config Mgmt] and then press [Download] button.
    2. 

  2. Upload this patch, and no need to reboot.
    3. 

  3. Even after reboot and this path is working still. If you would remove this patch, please reset to factory default an upload the CONF.BIN as step 1 saved.

What is logrotate function from Syslog Management?


The system will save the information, error and warning syslogs to the syslog folder.
Depending on the option, if there are new entries added to the logs since the function was enabled, they will be moved to a new file upon reaching the set time span.
The old files are named by the date of rotation and are compressed in gz format. Decompression software like 7zip is needed to extract and read the archive logs.

システムは情報、エラーおよび注意のシスログをシスログフォルダーに保存します。
オプションによっては、機能が有効にされた時からログに追加された新しいエントリーがあると、設定された時間帯に達するや否や新しいファイルに移されます。

E. Power NAS up and wait about 2~3 mins
F. Since update completed and system would power off automatically.

N2350 & N4350 support up to 4 cameras, and rest NAS model support up to 8 cameras.

C. Surveillance Center supports IPCAM base on ONVIF, even all ONVIF IPCAM should work with but real support capacity varies from each camera differ; it is need your understanding in advance.

D. Surveillance Station playback function base on WEB interface only, but local display.

E. (Option for local display function) Link USB keyboard, moue & HDMI to monitor. Please note HDMI unsupported hot plug, thus please reboot NAS with HDMI linked.

F. (Option for local display function) Install Local display module APP & reboot.

                         How to Reset OS6 Admin Password by USBCOPY.

A. Arrange an empty USB driver.
B. Unzip OS6_restore_admin_pass_by_USBCOPY.zip files to USB root 
folder.
C. Power NAS up as usual, plug USB driver into NAS while NAS 
power up ready.
D. Press USB COPY button from NAS front panel.
F. Since upgrade success and system would have a beep sound.
G. Remove USB driver and try to login NAS as default password 
"admin".
